Newcastle Bouldering Wall Staff Training course.
St Cuthbert's Catholic High School in Newcastle have a fantastic new Bouldering Wall in their Sports Hall. Over the last 2 years the PE Department have been trained to safely and confidently use the wall with groups of students. This involves gaining a Site Specific Sign-off from a Technical Adviser. I have been delighted to fulfill this role. Training and assessment are combined in a half-day session (full day for roped Walls), with staff assessed against the Control Measures we agree should be in the Standard Operating Procedure.
Last night 10 staff from the local Primary schools went through the same training and can now bring students to the High School to take part in Bouldering sessions.
